WHAT MAKES YOU A BELIEVER? HOW DO YOU KNOW IF YOU ARE REALLY A BELIEVER?
Mark 11:23, 2 Corinthians 5:7, Colossians 3:16, James 1:22
Believers Are Uncommon People
Believers are set apart because of their faith and the way they live by the Word of God. Here are the distinguishing traits of a true believer:
1️⃣ They Live Above Natural Limitations
Believers speak the Word of God with authority, and their words prevail over the law of nature because faith is the force that moves their words to work.
Mark 11:23 — “If anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.”
2️⃣ They Operate in a Higher Dimension
Believers live in the realm of faith, which is above the senses. This is the dimension in which God operates. They do not rely on what they see, feel, or hear but on what the Word of God says.
2 Corinthians 5:7 — “For we live by faith, not by sight.”
3️⃣ They Make God’s Word Their Standard
The Word of God is their guiding principle in everything they do.
They allow the Word to dwell richly in the midst of their hearts, governing their thoughts, words, and actions.
Colossians 3:16 — “Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom.”
4️⃣ Their Lives Reflect Their Belief in the Word
Meditation: Their thoughts are constantly aligned with God’s promises through meditation.
Confession: Their daily conversations reveal their belief in the Word as they consistently speak life and truth.
Action: They are doers of the Word, not just hearers. They put God’s Word into practice.
James 1:22 — “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”Prayer
5️⃣ They Live a Contented Life
A believer’s life is marked by contentment. For them, nothing is lacking while everything is necessary. They trust God to provide for all their needs.
Philippians 4:11–13 — “I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.”
PRAYER
“Lord Jesus, as from today, I take my position in the authority of a true believer, now and forever, in Your mighty name. Amen!”
